The child safety restraint laws in Delaware, like some other states, are minimum standards. Safety experts recommend kids stay in each stage of car seat until they reach the maximum height and weight limits provided by the seat’s manufacturer. Also in Delaware, children under 12 cannot ride in the front passenger seat if there is a working air bag. The exception to this is if the backseat spaces are all being used by younger kids.
